Restoration, specializes in the rescue, preservation and
restoration of works of art which due to weather and
climate effects, old age, bad handling and damage, have
alterations which we can repair.
We are an interdisciplinary
team, with specialists in each area needed for every
type of art work, whether is Painting and Contemporary
Sculpture, Colonial Painting and Sculpture, Art on Wood,
Polychromed and Quilted wood, Ceramics, both Prehispanic
or Contemporary, Ivory objects, Photography, Valuable
Paper documents and Books that need restoration.
For over 15 years we have
restored and worked on private art collections, from
master artists of old times and religious art, as well
as not-catalogued artists and objects d’art that are
found on particular homes and have a value for their
owners, such as porcelain, paintings and furniture.
Our principal objective is
to prevent further damage of the work of art, for this
reason we have a list of preventive measures that can
help the work of art to remain as original as possible,
and for a long time. We have a Basic Guide to Art
Preservation where we describe ways to handle, store,
transport and create the right atmosphere, humidity and
temperature where the work of art will be stored or
exhibited.
Artec, apart from the
services of advice on transportation of works of art,
handling, moving, and storing, also offers the services
of condition assesment of a work of art, historic
investigation and research to authenticate a work of art
or help to determine its origin. |
